Morzine has so much to do in the summer but one of the easiest things to do is don your boots, fill up your water bottle, make a yummy baguette for lunch and head off into the mountains for some of the best views around.

From Morzine town centre you can access the peaks of Nyon and Ressachaux very easily but if a hefty ascent is not your cup of tea there are plenty of gentler walks. Grab yourself a handy booklet from the tourist office which explains just how to get to the hikes and points along the route.

Walks in France are incredibly well sign posted with the distance (in km) and also the estimated time it will take for you to undertake the hike, next to the direction.

Remember we are still in the mountains so make sure you let someone know where you are going and prepare for last minute weather changes. Plenty of suncream and a rainproof jacket is advisable!
